Food for Trubies

It's a lot of fun to incorporate food into your True Blood party theme.  When you're deciding what foods to serve think about how it will represent a character, an episode or the show itself.  For presentation, you can grab some black or red trays from a party supply store or even use our DIY Cupcake Stand to display other foods as well.

These are some of the simpler options that are easy to throw together before your hungry guests arrive so you won't have to slave in the kitchen for days preparing.

True Blood Party Food Lafayettes AIDS Burgers @ Northmans Party Vamps"Lafayette's AIDS Burgers" are one of our guests favorites.  Make some slider burgers and set out condiments and toppings, don't forget the mayo!  It doesn't get any easier than this.

True Blood Party Food Deviled Eggs @ Northmans Party VampsIn memory of that gorgeous man Eggs Benedict Talley, serve up some "Deviled Eggs Benedict".  This is a must have at any southern get-together.  These could be made the night before your party and refrigerated, just bring them out when the guests arrive.

True Blood Party Food Spinach Dip @ Northmans Party Vamps
Spinach Dip is what our party labels as "Louisiana Swamp Muck".  This can also be pre-made the night before.  Serve with tortilla chips, pita chips or crackers.

True Blood Party Food Bleeding Strawberries @ Northmans Party Vamps"Bleeding Strawberries" was a last minute addition to our buffet last year.  We found a recipe that simply used strawberries and whipped cream.  Just drip some strawberry syrup over the whipped cream for the bloody effect.  If these aren't eaten right away, you can see from the picture that the whipped cream doesn't hold up too well.  This year we are trying a different approach and using a recipe for Cheesecake Stuffed Strawberries, using the same idea of dripping strawberry syrup or red food coloring over the top for the bloody effect.  This method should hold up well enough to make the night before and pop into the refrigerator.

True Blood Party Food Bloody Cupcakes @ northmans party vampsBloody cupcakes to complete your cupcake stand are very simple to do.  You can either make your own or pick some up at the bakery.  Drip some red food dye over them to make blood splatters.  Use a toothpick to make "fang marks" for the food dye to pool into if you like the look.  We will go the easy way and buy our cupcakes but will be putting them in black wrappers so they don't become camouflaged on our stand.

These food options make feeding your guests a breeze since they are mostly things you can make ahead.  That's a wonderful thing for those, like us, who will be spending a lot of time decorating.  You want to be able to enjoy your time with your fellow Trubies and admire your handy-work.
